Pete Loeffler is a very talented dude. I would travel to another state and get a hotel to see them again..that's how good they are! Chevelle is the best band I've ever seen live. Sevendust, Puddle of Mudd, and Chevelle were amazing but I got there late and missed 10 years so I can't comment on them.
Black Violin was a little disappointing. It felt like 45 minutes of music was played in a 1 hour and 20 minute concert. They played a good set list but the singer was a little preachy at times and the crowd got restless waiting for the next song. They also played their song from the Alice in Wonderland movie and the crowd wasn't really into it. My biggest problem with Black Violin was the obvious lip syncing during the chorus of several songs. The Diamond Eyes song from the movie The Expendables was pretty good but......Other people noticed it and it's been discussed on forums all over the internet.
When he sang a few of the chorus' along with the rest of the song he was amazing! The songs when he lip synced were "too perfect". 2 people standing next to me left in the middle of Black Violin's set. I'm guessing it was because they were disappointed in Brent Smith's performance. The last song made it obvious. He chose the lower pitch on the chorus and the guitarist and bassist weren't singing...but there was a higher pitch singing the chorus with him :(
